NVIDIA Driver 10.9.3 Hackintosh

NVIDIA has released their alternate graphics drivers for OS X Mavericks 10.9.3. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the 10.9.3 drivers.

How to Install the Web Drivers: 
In order to flag the alternate drivers on a CustoMac using Chameleon/Chimera, you must install the package and also add the flag manually to the chameleon.org.Boot.plist. If you use Clover, you can toggle back and forth using the standard menubar or system preference pane. 

1. Open Finder
2. Navigate to /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
3. Open in TextEdit
4. Add nvda_drv=1 to Kernel Flags as shown:

5. Save and reboot

You should be on the new NVIDIA drivers.

Hackintosh and Geekbench Scores

Today i've been testing out my recently built Hackintosh Pro and running some tests on it. Today is GeekBenches chance to run some tests over my system. At the moment it has got a 3930k, 16GB 2133MHz Ram, 128GB SSD and GTX 670 2GB.

These parts are currently in the process of an upgrade as this was built out of spare parts. Within the following weeks i will be adding a GTX 780 Ti, 32GB 2133MHz ram and a 256GB PCI-E SSD.

At the moment the build is running incredible and has not had a hiccup at all. All up this build was fairly cheap to build and completely worth it. Working in Photoshop is incredibly fast with little to no rendering time for large files.

The Beast of A Build

This week I have been working on an incredible Hackintosh build, I must say that this case is perfect, looks awesome and has plenty of breathing room. Corsair really has made a case that is optimized for both water and air cooling. 

This build runs quietly and preforms incredibly swiftly, I had no major problems at all. The only hick up was installing the OS on the the new Samsung EVO ssd due to the 4k formatting.

Other than that this Beast will blow you away, this lucky build is for a special customer in WA and will be pleasantly surprised with its power.

The main thing I find with my builds is that I thrive for a sleek design that comes with apple products. I feel this case has done some justice, looks great and is an awesome box of power.
